Overview
Being on Activity Staff at HoneyRock is not just about teaching skills and checking off award cards. The activities are a place where campers have fun, gain confidence, learn about success and failure, encourage one another, and learn new skills. As activity staff it is challenging to make all of this happen in a camper’s life, but it is all in a day’s work. Other parts of a day’s work include lifeguarding, equipment and area maintenance, managing campers and SLS counselors, and assisting with other activities as needed. They report to the Activity Area Coordinator.
Activity staff lives and works together in what hopefully becomes an authentic community. The goal is that everyone grows closer to one another and closer to Christ. There will be challenges in activities and in relationships with one another, but by practicing the grace of Christ every day you will grow closer to Him.
Wranglers
One sub-group of Activity Staff is the wranglers. They are a part of the authentic community and staff fellowship, but their day-to-day tasks are very different than other activity staff members. Their day revolves around the barn: wrangler breakfast, horse care, trail rides, and other barn duties. They report to the Ranch Coordinator.
