Challenge Course Program
Dates: September - November | March - May
*as weather permits
The Challenge Course program was born out of HoneyRock's second core value: purposeful challenge. The aim of our programming is to stretch participants by presenting them with challenge, offering them the tools and resources necessary to succeed and letting participants choose success or failure for themselves. The power of purposeful challenge comes from the learning environment. Our Challenge Course programming provides an unfamiliar environment which effectively places participants on a level playing field with one another and removes the distractions that so often accompany day to day life. The eustress brought out by trials and testing helps groups and individuals to relinquish their inhibitions and endeavor to become the truest version of themselves. Our facilitators are trained to sequence games, learning initiatives, and low and high ropes elements to meet the unique needs of every group that steps onto the Challenge Course.
Consider what intentional challenge could do for you, your friends, or your coworkers!
Price: varies by group size and length of stay
Depending on your goals, needs, and schedule we design an experience using an element or a combination of elements listed below.
Mobile Initiatives: Games and initiatives that can be done anywhere. These are anything from icebreakers to complete problem solvers.
Low Elements: Ground obstacles that provide varying levels of mental and physical challenge. They are intended for group building, self and group revelation, and fun.
High Elements: Vertical elements extending 25-30 ft. into the air. Teams and individuals will harness up to take on the Pamper Pole, the Wild Woozy, the Giant Swing, the Vertical Playpen, the Cargo Net, the Climbing Wall, the Giant's Ladder, and the Zip Line.
High Circuit: A series of interconnected, 30 ft. high elements. Pairs will harness up to traverse the circuit while practicing partner trust, group communication, and physical challenge.
Our primary Challenge Course program takes place from September through May. We offer half-day, one-day, or multi-day adventures on weekdays or weekends. High elements are not offered during the winter months. We can also offer Challenge Course experiences as part of your retreat during other times of the year. For assistance with scheduling, see Contact Us to communicate with our Challenge Course Coordinator.
We can work with large groups but will break them down into smaller groups for parts of the experience to insure greatest effectiveness. Each small group of 8 to 15 will have one or two trained leaders. Re-integrating the group at strategic times and facilitating transfer of learning to the larger group and permanent setting will ensure a lasting impact on the larger body.
Prices are all-inclusive at HoneyRock. They include all activities, equipment, meals, and staff who host and facilitate your group during your retreat. Dorm style lodging is included in the nightly cost. One group leader can come free of charge per 20 people.
