Staff Profile - Mike Odberg

I was born and raised in Duluth, MN at the western tip of Lake Superior. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin- Superior just across the bridge. I then spent the next 12 years teaching Physical Education. While teaching in southwest Wisconsin, I completed my M.S. in Physical Education- Pedagogy with an emphasis in Adventure Education. This was also the period of my life when I accepted Christ. Pairing my new found faith, with my passion for adventure and wilderness, I launched Ascending Adventures, a Christian wilderness and adventure ministry. I also managed Outdoor PURSUIT! at the College of St. Scholastica. These roles continued my passion for ministry in God's Creation. Upon a family move, I went back to teaching in the Green Bay, WI area from 2014 - 2018.

Clearly, Outdoor Adventure Ministry was my calling. I was blessed with a return to my passion when HoneyRock offered me this position in 2018. I am delighted to bring my passion, skills and experience to HoneyRock.

I am married to Annabelle, my bride of over a quarter century. We have two grown children, Erika and Bryn, who were raised in a life of adventure. My family and I love all things outdoors, as well as many athletic endeavors as well. I love all forms of outdoor adventure with a particular passion for wilderness canoeing. You might also find me in the woods hunting or at a local hockey rink playing my favorite sport.
