Staff Profile - Erin Sharp

I grew up right here at HoneyRock in beautiful Three Lakes, WI, with my mom, dad, and three siblings! Mark Patterson, aka my dad, worked as a full time HoneyRock staff member filling the position of Ranch and Grounds Coordinator from 1985-2005. HoneyRock afforded me the blessing of being my dad’s shadow at every opportunity I was given. His love for animals soon became mine and there was barely a moment in my growing up years you would find me away from the HoneyRock barn.

HoneyRock also was the place I met and married my husband, Jonathan. After getting married in 2005, God called Jonathan and I to Nebraska for seven years. Nebraska was a training ground for both Jonathan and me. We both started and ran our own businesses. He worked as a web developer and entrepreneur, and I worked as a riding instructor, barefoot hoof care practitioner, assistant barn manager, and horse trainer. In 2008, the joy of our lives came to us in the form of our beautiful daughter Noel. In 2011, our little family began thinking of going back to Northern Wisconsin in order to stay close to family. Knowing we were following God’s will, we packed up our family and all our animals headed north in March 2013. The blessings of moving back to Wisconsin have been immeasurable; they include the honor of being the Ranch Coordinator at HoneyRock, starting in May 2013.

I accepted Christ as my savior when I was very young. God knew long before I did that I would best know and understand him through his creation by working with and around horses. While growing up at HoneyRock and working with my dad, surrounded by His creation and equine world, I grew in my love and understanding of Christ and His unfailing love and grace.

My job gives me the honor of constantly being surrounded by God's creation, working with and alongside horses. It is a great privilege to learn and teach about our awesome creator through horses.
