I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, before attending Wheaton College for my undergraduate degree. It was at Wheaton that I learned about HoneyRock. I decided to begin my HoneyRock experience by becoming a Wrangler at the Barn. Seven summers later, I had worked in a variety of roles (Barn, Operations, Activity Staff), met and married my wife Laura (in Chrouser Dining Hall). I also earned my Masters in Intercultural studies from Wheaton and learned that working in an outdoor educational environment was the ideal fit for me.

Most recently, we lived in the Twin Cities where I was a Resident Director for the University of Northwestern for the past two years. We have also been blessed to welcome our daughter Lucie to the world who is full of life!

My family raised me with a desire to know the Lord personally. At the age of ten, I decided to commit my life to Christ and accept him as my Savior. Since then I have had plenty of ups and downs, but I have grown to trust in Christ through all areas of my life and believe that a life with Christ is one lived to the fullest.

What excites me about working at HoneyRock as the Vanguard Program Manager is the opportunity to develop students in a context where they have a year to experience the wonders of Creation, the authenticity of community, and the plethora of service and experiential opportunities. Through this program, these experiences will have a lifelong impact on these young people. I have had similar experiences here at HoneyRock and cannot wait to walk alongside others in their spiritual and developmental journeys.
