Our Events

College Union Events

From productions that fill a 2500-seat chapel to relaxed coffeehouse shows on Thursday nights, College Union runs and facilitates a wide variety of programs throughout the year.

MOVE

For the past few years, we've had the pleasure of collaborating with Solidarity Cabinet and Willie-O in order to put on what has evolved into a days-long, multifaceted experience. Students greatly enjoy the concert, dance-battle, lecture, and community aspects of MOVE. Watch the intro video to MOVE here!

President's Ball

College Union hosted , Wheaton College’s first off campus dance on February 20, 2012. This formal event was held in downtown Chicago at Café Brauer in the Lincoln Park Zoo. Wheaton’s history includes a long tradition of formal events with the most prominent being the Washington Banquet.  President's Ball 2016 was held at The Field Museum in Chicago.

Concerts

Live music is happening at Wheaton College! Throughout the year, CU hosts artists and musicians across all genres to perform in Edman Chapel or Coray Gym. In recent years, shows have included Lecrae, Local Natives, NEEDTOBREATHE, Switchfoot, Ben Rector, Judah & the Lion, The Decemberists, and many more.

Ultimate House Parties

During September, Seniors welcome underclassmen into their on-campus houses for the Ultimate House Party event. Each house transforms their home (usually every square foot of it!) to create interactive events such as haunted mazes, musical experiences, relaxed coffeehouse settings, themed parties, and more.

Talent Show

Coordinated and produced by College Union, this widely popular event features a wide variety of talents from our students in areas such as music, dance, comedy and the quintessential random acts of college talent. It is held in Edman Chapel each fall during Family Weekend.

Air Jam

Typically held in February, Air Jam has become a staple of the student culture here at Wheaton. What originally began as a lip-sync competition has evolved into so much more, with acts using elaborate choreography, costumes, props, and the occasional gimmick to make their routine as entertaining as possible.

Roller Disco

Take 500 students, 500 pairs of roller skates, crazy clothes, disco music, funky lights and a disco ball, and you’ve got the Roller Disco. Offering a chance to break from midterms and the winter blues and have some fun on campus, the event takes place in Coray Alumni Gym and is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Coffee Houses

On Thursday nights in our student center, Students can enjoy free coffee and live performances from their peers. We get to see a variety of musical genres, occasions, ages of performers, and even original songs or spoken word pieces!
