Dr. Christina Bieber Lake's Book Wins Award

Prophets of the Posthuman: American Fiction, Biotechnology, and the Ethics of Personhood

Since its publication by University of Notre Dame Press last year, Prophets of the Posthuman has earned commendation for enriching the conversation in bioethics, while defending the enterprise of reading fiction through an ethical lens.

“Because one of my goals was to be truly interdisciplinary, it was a thrill to hear this news,” said Bieber Lake. “The award affirmed me in my conviction that Christian literary scholars can contribute to the conversation between the sciences and the humanities on the question of what it means to be human. I’m delighted.”
