A pictorial exhibit of America's beloved gospel singer

"For a lifetime I have loved to sing 'the story of Jesus and His love." ...It was unknown to any of us at the time that this would lead to global-wide sharing of the blessed Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. History has been written and God's love has overshadowed these years of ministry."

- George Beverly Shea

George Beverly Shea, "America's Beloved Gospel Singer," carried the Good News of Jesus Christ in song to every corner of the globe as the musical mainstay in Billy Graham's Crusades. Between Crusade, radio, and television dates, he composed many songs, sang hundreds of concerts, and recorded more than 70 albums of sacred music, but a poem by Rhea Miller captured the thrill of his heart: "I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause; I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause; I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame; I'd rather be true to His holy name."

The Billy Graham Center Museum is currently hosting a new, commemorative exhibit to celebrate the life of this great man of God.
